INTELLIGENT REPORTING
DATA DELIVERY METHODS FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM
26th September 2001 at Imperial College, London, UK
FINAL CALL FOR CONTRIBUTED PAPERS
The ASC's next one-day conference will consider how new technologies
can (and should) be used to produce client-driven intelligence.
There is no reason why results from Survey Research have to be
presented as huge volumes of tables or as boring two-dimensional
charts, yet this is still the way that some clients receive their
results, sometimes without even an Executive Summary.
If clients want to drill down through the data, they should be able to
do so. The tools exist for delivering results in a variety of exciting
ways and this conference is dedicated to exploring how these tools are
actually being used, how they are performing and how users perceive the
benefits they can bring.
It is fundamental that the users' requirements be taken into account.
There is little point in producing new and exciting ways of delivering
data if the end-users don't want or don't understand how to use it.
However, a degree of forward-thinking is often required to be able to
deliver to clients functionality that they don't even know they need
yet!
Areas of interest include:
o Archiving & accessing
o Viewing data & primary records
o Interactive reporting
o Web delivery in all its manifestations
o Continuous reporting and using earlier data
o Case studies
Synopses are requested for contributed papers for the conference (up to
500 words). Synopses should contain enough information to allow the
referees to make an informed decision as to whether to include the
paper in the conference programme. Contributors should assume that each
presentation will be up to 40 minutes long including discussion. Whilst
not being restricted to web delivery, we are particularly interested in
papers which explore the use of this media.
Proposals for contributions should be sent, by June 15, 2001 to:
