Hi Everyone,
Put this in your diaries now.
MINERAL DEPOSITS STUDIES GROUP ANNUAL MEETING
3-4 January 2002
The meeting will be held at Southampton Oceanography Centre,
University of Southampton and will cover all aspects of research into
mineral deposits from genetic models through exploration and
exploitation to environmental impact and remediation. In addition to
general mineral deposit research, two special sessions are planned.
The first will deal with "Submarine Hydrothermal Mineralisation -
Ancient Deposits and Modern Analogues". The second session, entitled
"21st Century Pt-Pd Deposits: Current and Future Potential" will be
held jointly with the BGS and the IMM. For more information on this
session contact Iain McDonald ([log in to unmask]). A post-conference
workshop on "Alteration Styles and their Discrimination" is also
currently being planned for the 5th of January.
Oral and poster contributions are welcomed from research students and
post-doctoral workers. Contributors from industry are also
particularly welcome. The conference abstracts will be published in
the Transactions of the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy Section B
