Thanks for the advice and offer. I would be very interested to see an Excel spreadsheet of the method (I use PC, with Excel 97), if you can mail it as an attachment?
Can one use the method without knowing specific gravities? Some people do and in the chapter on Gresens (by Leitch and Lantz 1994 GAC short course p. 165) it says one can get by without.
If you have the above book, the figure on p. 163 puzzles me. How do you get lines for Al2O3, Fe2O3 etc?? the figure refers to a single sample so loss/gain and volume change should plot as points (not lines). I think I am missing something simple here!
