Colleagues
I have found in recent travels in various parts of the world that people are
trying to map alteration without the benefit of stains. The traditional
HF-Na cobaltinitrite stain for potassium in particular is now banned in many
places as it is regarded as too dangerous.
Does anyone know of a stain test for potassium that does not involve highly
dangerous chemicals such as HF? Are there perhaps alternatives that can be
used instead of HF?
Thanks for any help.
Best wishes
Noel
