I'm a Colombian Geologist and courrently doing posgraduation studies at the
University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. I'm working on the metamorphic evolution
of the Central Cordillera of the COlombian Andes wich is a polymetamorphic
complex that reccords an extensive Late Precambrian through Triassic
tectonic evolution, related with the configuration of the Proto-Andean
Margein and an intense terrane transfer between Laurentia and Gondwana.
I''m expecting to work on the P-T-t-d trajectories of the main units of
this composite terranes and understand its orogenic and tectonic setting.
Courrently I am working with Prof. Dr. Caetano Juliani of the same
university. I write you because altough I am courrently enrolled on the
University and we have the main analytical facilities, I have had problems
getting an scholarship for covering my life in Brazil, and of course
Brazilian government financial aids are mostly devote to Brazilians and
Colombian Government doesn't have any budget for research. The area I'm
studying is of great interest in terms of both tectonic and paleogeographic
issues, and the available research is almost none. Also the possibilitie of
international cooperation it somethings that will encourage more research
in our Latin American countries.
So if there is anyone of you interested in working with us, and maybe can
help us find a scholarship maybe in a sandwich type programme I will be
really greatful. Well, waiting to her from some of you. Sorry if I sound so
unpolite asking for your contribution.
Regards
Andres Bustamante
