Dear colleagues
my name is Maria Xanthoudaki and I am working in Italy after being in the
UK for many years (doing a PhD on museum education and working at the
University of East Anglia). I am now teaching museum educators and doing
research in the field as freelance.
I am involved in a research project with the Gallery of Modern and
Contemporary Art in Turin in which we are looking at how the internet can
be used as tool for educating (not only children) and for stimulating
people to visit museums more.
I would like your help in finding out about websites of museums and
galleries which are used for more than giving out the basic information
about opening hours, etc. - that is, for example used for interactive
learning, for disseminating resources (for example for teachers), for
stimulating communication with art and so on.
I am interested more in art museums and galleries, but websites of science-
or history-oriented museums would also be helpful in the sense that they
give ideas about ways to use the internet.
Thank you
Regards
Maria Xanthoudaki
