The first event, the 17th Annual Conference on Distance Teaching and
Learning, August 8-10, 2001, offers more than 140 presentations, featuring
keynotes, workshops, panel discussions, and information sessions, that
examine a wide range of critical success factors, practical applications,
teaching methods, course designs, and future developments in distance
learning. For more information on conference sessions, fees, and lodging
reservations check out the conference website at
http://www.uwex.edu/disted/conference/. If you would like a paper copy of
the 16 page brochure, please respond to this email to request it, and be
sure to include your mailing address.
The second event, the Symposium on Distance Learning Strategies for
International Humanitarian Organizations, on Saturday, August 11, 2001, will
explore distance learning needs, options and solutions unique to United
Nations agencies, NGOs, government organizations and donors with mandates in
international humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and/or human rights.
This symposium, organized by the UW-DMC and InterWorks, builds on your and
your colleagues attendance at the Conference. For more information on the
symposium, see the attached symposium flyer. Registration procedures for the
conference and the symposium are also explained on the attached "Combined
Registration Instructions," form. Please feel free to contact us if you have
any questions.
