many many years ago, well, the early 70s , when i explained to colleagues
that standard typology needed to be used so I could create a simple storage
and retrieval system to hod my research and their fieldwork, i was accused
of trying to limit archaeological freedom of expression and
interpretation...eventually they learned to organise their work in
index fields with free text
does this mean SMRs are a already a tool for mind control ?

Hmm - interesting point, Neil. I guess it all depends on who is responsible
for approving / rejecting candidate terms and the structuring of the
relationships! An Office of Fair Indexing perhaps?

Cheers, Neil
