Morning all,
I mentioned the NKOS web-site and other initiatives recently on the list, so
I thought memebrs might be interested to see a copy of this from Gail Hodge
at NKOS in response to an enquiry as to how FISH might become involved with
NKOS.
For those of you who would like to follow up this connection, their website
is at http://nkos.slis.kent.edu/
and their listserve list can be joined by sending a message to
[log in to unmask] with a blank subject ine, and the message
subscribe NKOS [your name]
--
replacing [your name] with your full name: it works just like the jiscmail
system.
Perhaps one possibility is that we could invite UK based NKOS members to a
joint NKOS / FISH conference? Any thoughts?

Dear Edmund,
There is no formal organizational affiliation to NKOS. We do get in-kind
support from several organizations such as the Coalition for Networked
Information which hosts our listserv, OCLC which hosts our listserv
archives,
and Kent State Univ. which hosts our Web site and provides our webmaster.
We
are always looking for support for our workshop. As you probably know if it
will be held at the Joint Digital Library Conference in Roanoke, VA, USA on
June 28. Hope that you might be able to come. We also meet for dinner at
the American Society for Information Science and Technology meetings. The
next meeting will be held in November in Chicago.
Last year, the European members did a workshop at ECDL. You might want to
consider this as a means of contributing.
Mostly, we try to share information and answer each others questions. If
there are others at your organization who might be interested they can just
use normal listserv procedures for joining our list.
Thanks for your interest.
Gail Hodge
