Good afternoon everyone,
The organisers of the e-conference on GIS issues are seeking short
presentations from list members to help focus discussion and share
experience. If you would be interested in providing a presentation, please
read on.
The conference will be organised into three 'sessions' as follows. If you
would like to provide a presentation please contact the appropriate session
organiser *off-list* providing a bit of background about yourself, and
outlining the content of your presentation.
Please get in touch by 17th September, to give session organisers time to
co-ordinate the responses, and notify the list.
Needless to say, everyone will have a chance to post comments and
information once the conference starts, but these presentations will form
the backbone of the discussion.
Sessions:-
Session 1. Presentations from existing Sites and Monuments Records and other
heritage data 'content' providers on current issues and concerns. Organiser:
Nigel Pratt - [log in to unmask]
Session 2. Presentations from GIS industry and government: vendors, mapping
agencies, standards setting authorities on current developments in GIS.
Organiser: Brian Hopper - [log in to unmask]
Session 3. Presentations from research projects on future technologies using
combined GIS / SMR type data to present cultural heritage information.
Organiser: Matthew Stiff - [log in to unmask]
Presentations will be posted to this list by the presenters. They will need
to be in plain text format, to provide maximum accessibility. Graphic
materials and other file types can be added to the list archive nearer the
time if you wish, from where they can be downloaded by conference
participants. Presentations should aim to open up discussion, and therefore
need not be very long or detailed. Presenters will be asked to make
themselves available via email to answer questions.
Best wishes
Edmund Lee
