Hi everyone,
Are there any Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans on this learned list? For a book
chapter I'm working on, I need to locate male fans and couples of any
persuasion who watch the show together on a regular basis. I have been
finding subjects via e-mail lists and am asking those who are interested to
complete a survey. I am looking at male viewer response to the show and
questions having to do with how couples 'make use' of the series and
integrate it into their lives. I plan to combine this ethnographic research
with a textual reading of the show's complex (and often compromised)
approach to different modes and varieties of feminism -- a juggling act that
seems especially relevant to the pleasures on offer for male viewers and
couples. If you're interested in participating, please send me an e-mail
message at [log in to unmask] and I'll reply with the survey and a bit more
information about the study. If you don't watch the show yourself but know
someone who does, I would greatly appreciate hearing about any leads.
Thanks in advance.
