It only works with (inside) ProEngineer

I looked at Procision several years ago and decided it would't handle my
geometry.
With the demo version on the web I have just finished looking at it again.

The simple problem shown in last two Benchmark magazines (April and July
2001) does give good results.
It is easy to use and quick . However ...

I tried a simple thick walled cylinder with cross hole and intersection
fillet with internal pressure and the results were terrible, even with the
new iterative solution technique.

Apparently I may have got better results if I split the geometry into
sub-parts, but my ProE does not allow that as the Procision function to do
that calls up a surfacing license (which we do not have).

Even if we could do it this way this seems like a hard way to do meshing (by
hand).

Why mesh manually when ProE has the "perfect"? analysis partner in
ProMechanica which has good automeshing and adaptive P elements to give
accurate results (mostly?)

Regards
John

Hi All,

I am evaluating Procision http://www.procision.com/ from Rand Worldwide as
a first-shot design validation tool to be used within Pro/Engineer. Is
anyone on this list using Procision or have knowledge of the Precise Solids
Method (PSM)? It would be great to know your experiences in using this new
tool/method of analysis.

Additional info such as personal opinions, tips, pointers to resources, etc
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Sabir Ahmed
