Dear Colleagues,
Everbody knows that the amount of soluable Ions in the core materials of
earth dams must be kept under a definite limit, in order to avoid
excessive erosion. I am working with a team for designing an earth dam
in Azerbaijan province (NW of Iran), named “Abres”. One of the selected
barrow areas for core materials has a high amount of soluable Ions. Now
I want to ask you whether you know an allowable percentage for lime,
chalk or other soluable materials in clay core of earth dams?
Best wishes
A. Qanbari
