Dear engineering-geotech listmembers:
GEO-SLOPE International Ltd. is pleased to announce a workshop to be
held in Calgary from May 6th - 8th, 2001. This workshop is uniquely
designed to benefit all GEO-SLOPE software users, from first time
modelers to seasoned professionals.
Workshop Format and Outline:
============================
The first day consists of an all-day workshop with an emphasis on
theory, fundamentals and key features of the software. Advanced
modelers will be able to brush up on basic theory and those with
limited experience will learn how to use our products through an
optional hands-on tutorial that will allow them to set up, solve and
analyze a simulation.
On the second day, a series of round-table discussions will be
conducted where GEO-SLOPE engineers, software developers and workshop
participants will work together to guide the discussion, answering
specific questions regarding program features, modeling tips and
projects. The day will consist of three sections featuring concurrent
sessions on GEO-SLOPE products. Participants can assess their
individual needs and design their own education by attending the
sessions of their choice throughout the day.
A series of case histories will be presented during a morning session
on day three, highlighting projects where GEO-SLOPE software has been
effectively utilized. The afternoon will focus on group discussions
and brainstorming regarding current, past and future projects of
workshop participants.
In addition to the outlined activities, a separate area will be
maintained where dialogue can occur between workshop participants and
GEO-SLOPE personnel on any GEO-SLOPE software package including our
latest releases, Seep3D and QUAKE/W.
