UACES Conference: France and Europe, 9/3/01 at Loughborough University

As you may know, the University Association for Contemporary European
Studies (UACES) www.uaces.org is the leading professional association in the
United Kingdom for those studying and researching the European Union and
related issues. UACES runs an on-going series of conferences, workshops and
study groups for academics and practitioners from a range of disciplines
with a broad interest in European integration.

Of particular interest to you may well be:

France and Europe: The French EU Presidency in Perspective, on Friday 9
March 2001 at the Loughborough University

The day is bringing together French, British and US academics, along with
practitioners (from the French Permanent Representation in Brussels, for
example), to discuss the European and French agendas at the Nice summit of
December 2000. The morning round table will focus on the French EU
presidency process, objectives and outcomes; and the afternoon's session
will be on French European policy-making, and priorities.

If you know of other colleagues, including graduate students, who might be
interested, please would you kindly let them know of the event, [and for
full details see www.uaces.org for the programme and registration form].
Thank you.

Other UACES events in March include:

* Teaching the EU and European Studies, King's College London, Friday 23
March 2001
* After Nice: Enlargement and Reform of the EU, London, Thursday 1 - Friday
2 March 2001

Further details of all conferences and other UACES activities may be found
on the UACES site (www.uaces.org).

If you would like any additional information, please contact me.

Kind regards
Susan Jones, UACES Administrator
