BHPS-2001
The 2001 British Household Panel Survey Research Conference
5-7 July 2001, Colchester UK
This inaugural BHPS research conference aims to provide an
international forum for the exchange of research based on the British
Household Panel Survey. There will be parallel sessions and a small
number of plenary sessions. Submissions of papers are sought on all
topics covered by the BHPS, regardless of the disciplinary affiliations
of the authors. Indeed cross-disciplinary interchange is another of the
conference goals. Papers on methods and cross-national comparisons are
also welcome. Attendance by persons not presenting papers is also
welcome, subject to the venue's constraints on numbers. There is no
conference fee. Some lump-sum contributions towards the costs of
participation will be available (one per paper).
CALL FOR PAPERS (submission deadline 15 February 2001)
200-400 word abstracts of papers for presentation at BHPS-2001 should
be submitted by 15 February 2001, together with a draft of the complete
paper if available. Submissions based on complete papers are likely to
given preference in acceptance over those based on an abstract, other
things equal. The preliminary programme will be emailed to those
submitting papers by mid-March 2001. Appearance of a paper in the
preliminary programme implies acceptance of a submission.
Submission of abstracts should be by email, to
[log in to unmask]
and include authors' phone, fax, and e-mail addresses. For
multiple-author papers, please indicate the presenter (to whom
correspondence shall be addressed). The abstract should be ASCII text,
included in the body of the email message (no attachments please).
Mail complete papers (3 copies please) to

Interested participants without internet access may also send abstracts
to this address. Aiming to have papers downloadable from the conference
web-site, we will ask for electronic versions of accepted papers by
June 2001.
In order to gauge numbers attending, potential participants (whether
presenting or not) are requested to make a preliminary registration
(email: [log in to unmask]), by 15 February 2001,
indicating whether their participation probability is
low/medium/high.
