Food Growing - How to Assess & Deal with Potential Land Contamination
A one day conference
Date - Thursday 8th November 2001
Venue - Foster Building, University of Central Lancashire
Hosted by Faculty of Health, University of Central Lancashire
This conference is designed to highlight some of the issues around the identification and assessment of potentially contaminated land. A set of guidelines that communities and individuals can follow to help them assess and deal with any potential problems will be launched at the event.
The event is aimed at anyone involved in growing food: -
Health Authorities
Health Promotion, Community Dieticians, Food and Health Workers, Public Health
Local Authorities
Sustainability, Local Agenda 21, Environmental Health
Community & Voluntary Groups
Local Food Projects, Schools, Allotment Groups and anyone involved in growing food
The cost of the event is just £50 plus vat (£58.75) with a number of places at £15 plus vat (£17.63) for representatives of voluntary organisations. In addition there are a small number of subsidised places for the unwaged and special cases, which are available free of charge (please apply)
