I am looking for a research student who might be interested in applying for
an ESRC studentship on young children's versions of their 'family' and
family relationships as 'expressed' through their drawings. This
studentship may be associated with fieldwork for the National Evaluation of
Surestart, an intervention programme for children under three and their
families in the most 'excluded' areas of the country.
Leeds in an accredited centre for ESRC studentships. The student would
register for a PhD under the direction of Angela Anning, Professor of Early
Childhood Education at the School of Education, University of Leeds. She is
a member of the team evaluating the Surestart programme nationally.
Would colleagues please mail this to any person they believe might be
interested in such a studentship and ask them to contact me at
