Hi All, I wonder if someone will remember me, I gave a paper at DDD2000 on
Personal funeral ceremonies... After having changed servers etc I lost
touch with the list, here I am again, at last (hopefully welcomed). Some of
you may remember I tried to launch the idea of "independent
ministers",trained professionals conducting personally meaningful rites of
passage for -mainly- non church goers. Update: after having been contacted
by Australians, we have finally launched the british chapter of the
international federation of celebrants. tony walter -heard about him?- was
a welcomed guest-speaker at the launch of the chapter last june in bristol.
we are in talks for links with the national funerals college too... despite
we have very few members at the moment we have big hopes and expectations
for the future. as an association of professionals we are aware of the
social-emotional-psychological implications all ceremonies, but especially
funeral ones, have on our clients. we welcome any kind of help and
assistance from other professionals (and academics are professionals too,
in my view... with no offence!)in the field. hope to hear from you. i'm
glad to be able, again, to read your interesting contributions... ciao, robi
