The Arts Catalyst announces 2 space-art events during October 2001.

1 - 4 OCTOBER STAR CITY EXPEDITION
Diving into the environment of Star City, heart of the Russian space
programme, a group of London and Moscow-based artists and scientists
will be
visiting the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre and undertaking
projects
on board the IL-76 MDK on a parabolic 'zero gravity' flight. Electronic
music group Flow Motion will give a performance of music for
the long distance astronaut for the personnel and families of Star City.

SUN 28 OCTOBER 3rd UK SPACE ART FORUM, Hull, UK

Artist or scientist, have you got an idea for art in space? This is your
chance to share it with other like-minded people and organisations. The
UK
Space Art forum is an annual meeting for artists and scientists
interested
in the artistic possibilities of space exploration. This year we will
focus
on work about human and robotic space exploration.
The Arts Catalyst and Hull Time-Based Arts present the 3rd UK Space Art
Forum, 1 - 6 pm, as part of Deep-ROOT, Hull, UK. For venue information

How to attend - send a 200 word outline of your idea to

or fax it to 0044 (0) 20 7377 0298. State whether you will use slides,
video (vhs format) or laptop and give a telephone contact as well as

You will get 10 minutes to present your idea. Admission and refreshments
are
free. There is no deadline but we will accept participants on a
first-come
first-served basis. If you do not want to speak or if the list is full
admission is #10.00.
