EU copyright directive seen saddled by amendments
BRUSSELS, Jan 23 (Reuters) - A European directive on copyright aimed at
crushing piracy in the digital age is at risk of falling through if
Eurodeputies fail to reach common ground on its final version,
parliamentary sources said on Tuesday.
The stakes for the music and film industry are high. The directive, in
its current form, would give copyright owners the right to use
technology, such as encryption, to limit access to films, music and
other works to people who pay for them.
