ESRC (CASE) PhD Studentship at Lancaster University beginning October
2001
Applications are invited for a three-year CASE PhD studentship on
* Interactive Television and Household Media Use *
funded by the ESRC and the research consultancy Teleconomy.
The award will pay tuition fees and a maintenance grant.
The student will be based in the Department of Sociology, Lancaster
University.
Candidates must be UK or EU nationals, or international students who
have
been
"ordinarily resident" (i.e. living and working, not in full-time
education)
in
the UK or EU for the last three years. They should have a background
in
social
science and/or cultural/media studies, have some familiarity with
recent
media
developments, be able to work on their own and to collaborate with
other
organisations and be able to handle confidential material.
