IST Mobile Communications Summit 2001, 9-12th September 2001, Barcelona,
Spain.
http://www.mobilesummit2001.org/
The main objective of this annual conference is to provide a forum for
the discussion and dissemination
of the results of the European and around-the-world research
initiatives in mobile and personal
communications systems including terrestrial and satellite-related
systems and services. In the context of
the European IST (Information Society Technologies) Programme, a global
goal is to promote an
in-depth enhancement of current technologies and the development of new
ones, so as to move to an
integrated seamless network that ensures global personal connectivity
and enables access to wireless
multimedia communications and services by anyone, from anywhere, at any
time, with capabilities,
quality and performance comparable to those of fixed network services.
The IST Mobile Communications Summit 2001 is sponsored by the European
Commission, and
organised by UPC with the support of the IST projects in the "Mobile
and Personal Communications
and Systems including Satellite based Systems and Services" Domain.
