Call for papers
Special issue of International Journal of Human Resources Development And
Management (IJHRDM).
Activity Theory for Organizational Development and Management.
Activity theory (AT) is a philosophical framework for studying different
forms of human activities as development processes--both individual and
social levels interlinked at the same time. It is a powerful theory of
social action. The concept of activity is a potentially useful way to
structure organisational context. The research community in this area is
rapidly expanding. The purpose of this special issue is to bring to a wider
audience the theoretical and practical advantages offered by activity theory
to the study of work and organizations.
We invite submissions applying activity theory in the following areas:
Human computer interaction
Information system development
Work, technology and organization
Computer supported collaborative work (CSCW)
New forms of work and learning
Innovations and organisation of research work
Requirements engineering
Workplace learning and transfer
Knowledge management, organisation and learning
The papers are not restricted to the above topics. All papers will be
refereed. Submission should be
between 10-15 pages in length.

Deadline for papers:
Friday, 30thNovember, 2001
Review results:
Thursday, 31st January, 2002
Deadlines for final papers :
Wednesday, 1st May, 2002
Publication:
End of the year
