If I could follow Alyson's query regarding benchmarking.
The British Society of Criminology recently enquired about QAA
subject benchmarking for criminology and there appear to be no
plans to design subject benchmark criteria for criminology.
Consequently, criminologists will be assessed against the
benchmarks for their cognate disciplines. The problem, as Alyson,
highlights is applying the benchmarks for the cognate disciplines to
criminological activities.
Could this be something that the BSC could take forward, say by
acting as a conduit for creating networks that are built around the
different disciplines?
Best wishes
David
