PATIENT HEALTH INFORMATION OFFICER
Rotherham Leisure, Library and Information Services
L15,210 - 18,372 (starting point dependent on qualifications and
experience - pay award pending)
In this new post, based at Rotherham District General Hospital, you
will play a key role in developing our Patient Health Information
Service, operated on behalf of the Rotherham health community by our
established and expanding Health Care services section.
Building on an existing service based in the Patient's Library, you
will develop Healthinfo, our new health information unit recently
opened in the Hospital's Main Concourse, co-ordinate with other
agencies in the hospital and the wider community and pilot the
introduction of evaluation tools for patient information on the web.
You will be either a qualified librarian or information professional
with experience in a public information service (not necessarily
health related) OR a qualified nurse or other health care
professional with experience of providing information or advice to
patients and the public.
In addition you must possess the ability to work accurately and to
deadlines and be able to communicate clearly with library users,
colleagues and other agencies. You must also possess the knowledge
and ability to use computer applications including the Internet.
Experience or a qualification in counselling, a minimum of 12 months
supervisory experience and a current valid driving licence are
desirable.
