Hi All:
I have now placed Niall's example for whisky lovers among the G1 examples.
To handle this exapmle properly, I have tweaked the XML to HTM converter:
which is exactly why examples are good. One object of the exercise is to
make the converter as universal as possible.
The necessary tweaks may be of interest as clarifying aspects of the IMS
specification:
1. I had not envisaged an item which contained only presentation text
without any questions. Hence Niall's heading was not printed out in the HTM.
2. The itemfeedback elements idents 1,2 & 3 in item I_Miranda_198.0_3 were
blank. This is presumably legitimate but I had not anticipated this
situation.
3. The most useful point to emerge clarifies the scope of identifiers.
Frankly, I found this part of the IMS spec unclear. The first version of
the converter assumed that identifiers would be unique across an assessment.
The fact that Niall's example works OK with the QuestionMark viewer
indicates that identifiers need only be unique inside an item.
The converter now copes with all of these situations. The tweaks were
reletively minor so I have not given it a new version number.
Regards
Graham
