SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS

The program will include one stream of invited talks, a second stream
of contributed talks and contributed papers to be presented in the
poster sessions.
People interested in presenting a paper at the conference are kindly
invited to fill the preregistration form and to send a title and a text-
only
abstract (max 300 words) BEFORE 15 JANUARY 2002 to

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
15 January 2002 deadline for submission of abstracts
15 February 2002 decision on programme of contributed talks
1 July 2002 deadline for poster submissions

Contributed talks will be selected by the Program Committee from among
the submissions received. Unselected contributed papers will be eligible
for poster presentation.

The Fifth International Conference on Forensic Statistics, will be held
at the Venice International University, Isola di San Servolo, Venice,
Italy,
from August 30 to September 2, 2002. Previous Conferences have been held
at North Carolina State University, University of Edinburgh and at
Arizona State University.
As in the past, the Fifth Conference is intended to bring together
forensic scientists, lawyers, statisticians and those from related
disciplines to discuss the many and varied uses of statistics in
legislative, administrative and judicial proceedings. It is anticipated
that the 2002 conference will address the areas of DNA evidence,
graphical structuring of evidence, epidemiological issues, discrimination,
census undercounting as well as likelihood methods and appropriate
means of presenting statistical evidence in court.
