Well, good luck with the funding, David. Perhaps you could post other short
but relevant bits of the working document assuming it's not required to be
confidential.
It's a shame that in common with a lot of university events all these
readings are midweek which it makes it a bit hard for the car-less working
folk located at some distance to make it.
One point that jumped out at me was your comment about most artists valuing
elements of randomness and intuition. My own experience is that over the
years my way of working has become more sytematic and analytical - in fact,
I've rather come to distrust intuition. But then that perhaps reflects the
fact that my own interests are more project-based than focussed on discrete,
individual poems. Be interested to hear others' sense of this.
On the subject of OULIPO, the Atlas Oulipo Compendium which from memory is
about 13 quid is highly recommended to those who don't already know it. Also
from Atlas Harry Mathews's excellent prose book The Way Home which contains
some real gems such as *Country Cooking From Central France*, *Singular
Pleasures* and *Armenian Papers*.
Finally, could you give more detail on the Katherine Hayles books you
mention?
Cheers
David
