I've forgotten now exactly Alison and I threw a print-out
out because I thought the world had enough useless
clutter but it was something to do with big bad misguided
Americans publishing little talentless misguided English
ninnies like myself. I think he called us something
like Norbert Nobodies or something equally silly. I found
the spectacle of someone making a complete fool of
themself rather entertaining over a cup of tea - by the
time I'd finished my tea I felt rather sorry for him. Like
when you wake up with a hangover and think 'Cripes
I didn't really say that last night did I - knowing that
the dreadful answer is 'yes'.' However I doubt that
he had written it under the influence of anything
stronger than jaundiced jealously.
Maybe someone else can give you a more detailed
account.
