Hi Paul
As far as I can see the "other" setting means you will not be able to do
much with the status. Personally I am holding off uploading accounts in bulk
until we have 5.5 up and running (due for launch any day). With 5.5 you can
set the status of a user on batch upload, which then means you can (in level
2, not sure about level one) push content on my institution according to the
user status. So you can have messages for Faculty (teachers) different to
students for example. Currently I am setting user status manually.
