University of Oulu, Finland, April 19-21, 2001
INVITATION AND CALL FOR PAPERS
Theme:
- The Methodological Issues in Music Research
Organisers:
- The Finnish Society for Ethnomusicology
- The Finnish Society for Music Research
- ISME Finland
The local organiser of the Symposium is the Music education unit at the
Department of Education in the University of Oulu. Guest lecturers from Finland
and abroad (e.g. from the collaborating universities of Oulu, the Luleå
Technical University and Piteå Music Academy) will address different aspects of
the Symposium theme.
Topics:
- Musicology
- Ethnomusicology
- Music education
- Popular music
- Cultural studies and music
The Symposium languages will be Finnish, Swedish and English.
Presentations:
Proposals for presentations and posters (short description for a 20-minute
presentation or a poster) should be send preferably by e-mail to
[log in to unmask] or by regular mail to Maija Fredrikson, Kasvatustieteiden
tiedekunta, Oulun yliopisto, PL 2000, 90010 Oulu, by 19th of February 2001. The
proposal can address any theme of the symposium or can be a part of the ongoing
research project. Please indicate in the proposal the language of the
presentation and other considerations, for example, whether you need any special
technical equipment for your presentation. The acceptance will be announced in
early March.
