Hi LTSN physics and astronomy folks
People who have joined the LTSN special interest group in simulations for
teaching in physics and astronomy are already aware that we are putting in
to the LTSN awards scheme a collaborative proposal. Broadly, what we are
suggesting is that the special interest group gets itself into a position
where it can pay for teaching-support material and simulations to be
authored at sites across the UK, and then have this material made freely
available for the UK academic community to use in that form, or as edited
by the local user. We have a number of people within the group who are
interested in authoring and also in using such material. This email to the
wider mailing list is to ask if there are others in the UK academic
community who could at this stage express a potential interest in either
using such material, or doing some authoring. If this project has the
obvious support of the UK physics and astronomy education community, it is
more likely to get funded, and once funded more likely to do things of
benefit to us all.
Today is the deadline for the proposal to be in, sorry for the last minute
email! If you are potentially interested, please email me as soon as
possible today.
Thanks, Bruce
