THE INDEPENDENT ART SCHOOL will be holding it’s next event MODELS OF
PRACTICE at Dilston Grove in London (directions below) on Sunday 25th,
Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th Feb 2000.
The event comprises of a series of talks/discussions – a seminar taken
outside of institutional structures – and an archive (library).
SUNDAY 25TH OF FEB: EVENT BEGINS AT 2PM
Performances and talks by Di Clay & Jane Dudman, Tony Maas. Inan Lau, Mattin
Artiach, Karin Paish and James Gordon. Roland Miller will present his
performance project ‘Wond’rous Life’ and hold a meeting to discuss the next
event, both old and new participants are welcome. Em Druiff will provide
information about Save Dilston Grove.
TUESDAY 27TH OF FEB: EVENT BEGINS AT 7PM
Talks by Woon Tien Wei (Artists Investigating Monument project, Singapore)
and Philip Barnes. Discussions about the work that is being made in the
space and site-based performances.
WEDNESDAY 28TH FEB: EVENT BEGINS AT 7PM
Talks by Stefan Szczelkun (Artist's Collectives 1968 – 2001), Giles Perry
(Sunday School project), and Jessica Lerner.
The space will be open to the public from 2pm on both Tuesday 27th and
Wednesday 28th Feb. Come and browse through the archives or simply stop by
for a chat and cup of tea.
Archive area includes; video pieces/footage by Em Druiff, Disco, the
Independent Art School Conference, The invisible college, “24 frames of
Separation” a video archive from an event organised by Claire Taylor and
Simon Hollington; Zines and Statements; Books etc. Long Kang University will
also present an archive/ installation.
Espen Jensen, Asim Butt and others will make work in the space during the
week.
All events are free. Individuals are welcome to bring along
information/pieces (zines, videos, statements) to add to the archive. Or to
come and talk about their work in an informal crit situation. Contact Pippa
