Dear ARLIS:
Hello. We were wondering if you know of an Image Search Engine that
searches for an actual image on the web, rather than searching for the image
via descriptive text.
In other words, is there an engine or web site where I can submit (maybe via
e-mail attachment) an actual image that I'm researching, which would result
in hits of web site URLs that contain that particular image?
We are a religious library and receive questions by regular mail and e-mail,
with many people sending us a picture and asking who the artist is, and
requesting any other details that we can find. For example, a person sent a
picture of "The Crucifixion." Searching the image search engines with the
term "Crucifixion," we retrieve thousands of hits. We were wondering if
there is anything more precise.
Thanks very much for your help. Kindly respond to [log in to unmask]
