Members of the list might know that some years ago, the West Sussex
Record Office and the Centre for English Local History produced a
website for medieval palaeography. At that time, when Netscape was the
main browser, we used a JavaScript which was effective in Netscape, but
was interpreted differently by IE. The site has been dormant for some
time, but we have now been able to reinvigorate it through the kind
offices of Michael Beddow, who has written a Javascript for showing the
transcriptions in a client window in both Netscape and IE. The site can
be accessed at:
http://www.le.ac.uk/elh/pot/medfram.html
taking the link in the left frame to how to read charters.
