RECORDS MANAGER AND ARCHIVIST
£26,444 - £30,895 Negotiable
The Church of England Records Centre holds records, deeds, and archives
dating from 1704 and is engaged on a 2-year modernisation programme to
streamline operations. Other challenges involve electronic
records-management, the interface between current and archival holdings and
an ambitious backlog programme.
We are seeking a Records Manager with vision and energy, seeking to make
their name in an unusual challenge. You will be the senior professional in
all operating decisions, advising client departments and working towards
providing remote access to finding aids. The current Director has been
appointed to oversee change and will leave in April 2003.
Qualities and Experience:
* Recognised archival qualification (records management focus).
* 3-4 years experience in a complex organisation.
* Understanding (or interest in) legislation affecting records in the
CofE and related organisations.
* IT (including Internet) for information storage, retrieval and
access.
* Excellent communication skills.
