Social Exclusion Action Planning Network
CONFERENCE
Libraries, Museums, Galleries and Archives for All - Tackling Social
Exclusion across the Sectors
Friday 29 June 2001
10am - 4.30pm
(Registration & coffee from 9.30am)
Venue:
London Voluntary Sector Resource Centre
356 Holloway Road
London N7 6PA
This is the second Conference organised by the Social Exclusion Action
Planning Network.
It will have two major themes:
* Following the publication by the Department of Culture,
Media and Sport of Libraries, museums, galleries and archives for all:
co-operating across the sectors to tackle social exclusion in January 2001,
this will be the first opportunity to look at what the different sectors are
doing to tackle social exclusion and to explore ways of developing joint
approaches
* The Conference falls within Refugee Week 2001, and so we are
taking the opportunity to highlight some of the work currently being
undertaken to provide services for refugees and asylum-seekers; and each
speaker will also be considering this in her/his presentation.
The Conference will be of value to all those working in the libraries,
museums, galleries and archives sectors, who wish to look in more depth at
developing programmes to tackle social exclusion and at ways of developing
joint projects and joint working, and to anyone interested in developing
services for refugees and asylum-seekers.
