Subject: Modern court records
Our local magistrates court has recently asked us to take in a run of court
registers from 1980 onwards. I believe that repositories are able to charge
Courts for storing registers less than 30 years old but I have been unable
to find any documentation.
I would therefore be most grateful if anyone to confirm the regulations
regarding charging and if anyone has been able to get their local court to
pay them for storage, a note of their charging rates would be useful. My
contact at the court went very quiet when I mentioned the possibility of
money changing hands.
