In Rotherham we have kept all the rate books up to and including 1901. From
then onwards we keep every census year and every fifth year in between.

Subject: rate books
Could anyone share with us their policy on the retention of rate books? For
instance, are rate books sampled? If so, with what criteria (eg kept for
each census year, kept for every fifth year...)?
With many thanks
