We are reviewing our policy on stock checking/stocktaking) and I have been
asked to compare our current practice with other repositories. I would be
grateful for answers (off-list) to the following questions:
How often do you check your stock?
What proportion of the stock do you check?
Do you simply check that material is in the right place, or do you (for
example) assess its condition ?
How long (in person-days) does it take?
What effect - such as closure - does it have on your users ?
I will summarise responses for the list.
