Before conducting any imaging project one should conduct a cost-benefit
analysis as well as a use analysis.
Some of the questions to be asked are;
Do the records under consideration for imaging have a long retention period?
How often are the records accessed?
What is the volume? in inches, cubic feet?
Are the records accessed by multiple users at the same time?
Is the imaging to be done primarily for preservation or access purposes?
Finally the following website has some useful articles concerning
microfilming. Just click on the "latest articles" button at the top of
their webpage.

I hope this information helps.
