ROYAL HOLLOWAY, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON
TEMPORARY ARCHIVIST
6 month contract - £18,909 to £20,865 per annum, pro-rata inclusive of
London Allowance
We wish to appoint a qualified archivist to join our enthusiastic and
forward-looking archives team on a temporary basis, to catalogue the
archives of two theatre companies deposited with Royal Holloway. This
project is part of the nationwide RSLP funded Backstage Project aiming to
provide a web portal for UK theatre archives.
The collections comprise management records, scripts, publicity material and
photographs of two unconventional theatre companies which were actively
engaged in the political and gender theatre movement of the 1970s and 80s.
Our project involves cataloguing these collections onto the CALM 2000
cataloguing system.
The post would be ideal for a recently qualified archivist, possessing some
knowledge or experience of automated cataloguing and possibly an interest in
theatre history, and wanting to extend their skills in a supportive
environment offering appropriate training opportunities situated in a
pleasant location.
