Robert Chell's message is timely and worrying, and while Wendy Archer's
information is welcome it does if anything reinforce one's worries as to the
competitive nature of the group's activities. We should also be aware of the
sensitive nature of such material and while I am sure that the group has
only the highest motives we must remind schools that it is an unofficial
body not subject to regulation. It is only five years or so ago that the
'gymslip photos' thief was apprehended through the CARN system after
visiting numerous record offices and stealing photographs of young girls. I
wonder whether the group has been subject to the sort of police checks that
all who work with young people are subject to; if they are a responsible
group as they seem, they should have done this already.
