I agree with a lot of what Adrian Cunningham says (and incidentally welcome
his contribution via Kathryn). But briefly and without actually looking up
the intro to ISAD(G) which he cites on the relationship between ISAD and
ISAAR:
1) I still think Rachel wouldn't HAVE to create a suprafonds description, as
(as I said before) the whole accumulation she discussed = 1 fonds in ISAD
terms. I don't see any point in making archival description too
complicated.
2) ISAAR authority records are not just for creators of archives, surely?
Are they not comparable to NCA Rules authority records which obviously can
be created for all persons, whether creators or subjects of records? (can
someone confirm this?)
