Film and Sound: Practical Approaches
Venue: Surrey History Centre
This course aims to provide practical help and explore the issues involved
for those who may have film or oral history collections in their care.
Speakers include Frank Gray, Curator of the South-East Film and Video
Archive; Ine van Dooren, Archivist at SEFVA; and Dr. John Stedman, Local
History Officer at Portsmouth Museum and Record Service. The day will be
chaired by David Lee, from Wessex Film and Sound Archive.
The morning workshop will provide advice on the specialist care needed in
conserving film collections, and where to get help. The afternoon will
explore techniques and current practice employed in building an oral
history collection.
