The School of Conservation Sciences, Bournemouth University welcomes
applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following posts
within the University Research Centre in Archaeology
Research Assistant - ARCHAEOMETALLURGY
£11,086-£15,349 per annum
Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant in the field
of Archaeometallurgy for 5 months starting in January 2001. Working with
Dr Roger Doonan, the post holder will extend the investigation of Bronze
Age and Iron Age metalworking at a number of sites in Britain, Greece,
Austria and the Isle of Man. The analysis will involve the use of the
School<RIGHT SINGLE QUOTATION MARK>s AAS and SEM-EDS, optical microscopy, and the preparation of
reports and papers. The successful candidate is likely to have a good
first degree in archaeology, a scientific background, postgraduate
experience, and be familiar with the use of SEM and optical mircoscopy.
This is a 5 month appointment in the first instance.

Applicants for all posts should have good first degrees in archaeology
or a related subject, and have some experience of undertaking research
and project management as appropriate to the post. Membership in the IFA
is desirable.
