Dear Allstat Members,
I am intending to develop an applied statistics and data analysis course
(British Columbia, Canada) for 3rd - 4th year (Jr.-Sr.) undergrads in
an Environmental Science & Technology program. They will have had only
an introductory level, applied statistics course as prerequisite. I
intend to design the course with emphasis on environmental-ecological
problem-based units with opportunity to learn the basics of study
design, sampling and fitting data to the appropriate model, including
times series and spatial data (both the latter two will be very
introductory).
I am aware of some general introductory stats textbooks and a few which
would be partly suitable (e.g. Gilber[1987], Piegorsch & Bailer [1999]);
but, I would very much appreciate any suggestions from you if you can
please alert me to a potentially suitable text with emphasis upon
environmental-ecological data analyses.
Thank you in advance for you time & any response my query. For those who
might be intersted in a summary, I will later send a listing.
Zack
