GENETIC EPIDEMIOLOGIST/STATISTICAL GENETICIST
CRC GENETIC EPIDEMIOLOGY UNIT, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND PRIMARY
CARE, STRANGEWAYS RESEARCH LABORATORY, UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE
We are a seeking a new epidemiologist/statistician to join an active
research unit at the University of Cambridge studying genetic
susceptibility to cancer. The unit conducts studies into the genetics of
common cancers, including family based genetic linkage studies, population
association studies and cohort studies. In addition to providing
statistical support for ongoing studies within the unit, there would be
ample opportunities to develop ones own studies or to pursue methodological
research.
Applicants should have an M.Sc. in statistics or epidemiology, a Ph.D. in a
relevant subject, or equivalent experience. Experience in genetic analysis
would be an advantage but is not essential.
Appointment would be on the University's Research Associate scale (£16775 -
£25213) or Senior Research Associate scale (£21435-£30967), depending on
qualifications and experience.
The funding for this post is initially available until 30.9.2004.
