PhD Studentships
3 years fixed term
Maintenance grant: £10, 536 (plus location allowance if applicable)
Commencing October 2002, three studentships in the field of Genetic
Epidemiology will be available within the ICRF Prevention and Control Groups.
ICRF has an international reputation in Genetics and Epidemiology and has a
commitment to expanding its activities in the area of Genetic Epidemiology.
One important elements of this strategy is to increase training
opportunities in this growing field. Depending on the background and
interests of the successful candidates, the posts will be located in Leeds,
London, Newcastle or Oxford. Topics will include Genetics of Naevi and
Melanoma, Genetic Epidemiology of Breast and Colorectal Cancer, and
Prevention of Colorectal Cancer in High-Risk Families.
Candidates should have a good honours degree (or equivalent) in statistics,
genetics or another relevant field. The appointee(s) will be registered at
either the University of Leeds, London, Newcastle or Oxford.
